Highland Bridge Construction Updates 2021

August 30, 2021

Ryan will begin improvements to the Cleveland Avenue and Montreal Avenue intersection beginning on Monday, August 30, 2021. This will continue for approximately 3 weeks. Cleveland Avenue will remain accessible to all residents, but through traffic will be modified as follows: 

  • Vehicular traffic: North bound traffic will be detoured east on Montreal Avenue to St. Paul Avenue. South bound traffic will be detoured to St. Paul Avenue south to Edgcumbe Road and continue west on Sheridan Avenue West. 
  • Bicycle traffic: North bound bicyclists will be detoured east on Montreal Avenue to St. Paul Avenue. South bound bicyclists will be detoured to St. Paul Avenue. 
  • Pedestrian traffic: North bound pedestrians will be detoured east on Yorkshire Avenue to St. Paul Avenue. South bound pedestrians will be detoured to Saunders Avenue east to St. Paul Avenue.
August 6, 2021

Phase three of the Cretin Avenue and Ford Parkway intersection construction is complete. Cretin Avenue will open to vehicular traffic the morning of Saturday, August 7, 2021. Phase four of the intersection construction will be completed August 20, 2021. Ford Parkway will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction.    We want to thank our neighbors as we continue offsite infrastructure construction.  

June 30, 2021

Ryan will begin phase three of the Cretin Avenue and Ford Parkway intersection construction on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Phase three of the intersection work includes new curb and gutter, ADA compliant cross-walks, traffic signals and repaving on the northern half of the intersection.  Ford Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction and the temporary stop sign will be removed. Cretin Avenue will be closed to pedestrian, bicycles and vehicles from July 6, 2021 to August 7, 2021. Access to TCF Bank, Big-O-Tires and the residential alley will be maintained. 

June 11, 2021

Ryan will complete the intersection construction at Mount Curve Boulevard and Ford Parkway later today. The traffic signal at Mount Curve Boulevard will be operational at that time. Temporary traffic control will be removed on Monday, June 14, 2021.

Ryan will begin intersection construction at Cretin Avenue and Ford Parkway on Monday, June 14, 2021. The first phase of construction involves demolition and temporary patching of existing medians on Ford Parkway. Temporary lane closures adjacent to the medians will occur during these construction activities and will last approximately 2 days.

On approximately Wednesday, June 16, 2021, Ryan will start phase two of the intersection construction. Phase two of the intersection work includes modifications to the existing utilities, new curb and gutter, ADA complaint cross-walks, traffic signals and repaving on the southern half of the intersection. Traffic along Ford Parkway will be diverted to the northern lanes. A temporary three way stop sign will be in place during phase two.

May 28, 2021

Ryan is completing the intersection work at Mount Curve Blvd and Ford Parkway in mid June. Once completed, Ryan will transition to the
intersection of Cretin Avenue and Ford Parkway. The scope of work at
Cretin Avenue and Ford Parkway includes modifications to existing
utilities, new curb & gutter, ADA complaint cross-walks, traffic markings, traffic signals and repaving the intersection. Ryan will provide additional communication regarding the temporary traffic control plans associated with the work prior to the start of construction.    

May 11, 2021 HDC Transportation Committee Meeting

April 5th, 2021

Beginning on Monday, April 5th, you will notice traffic impacts on Ford Pkwy. Ryan Companies will be performing offsite improvements for the new Mt. Curve Blvd and Ford Pkwy intersection. This scope of work will include modifications to existing utilities, new curb and gutter, new traffic markings and new traffic signals. Traffic will be reduced to two lanes at this intersection (one westbound lane and one eastbound lane) and Mt Curve Blvd. will be closed from Ford Pkwy North to Pinehurst Ave. No public transit routes will be impacted, but delays should be expected through June. 

March 16, 2021

With spring approaching, Ryan Companies will be starting the 2021 infrastructure phase at Highland Bridge. The anticipated construction start is early April, weather dependent.

The 2021 infrastructure phase includes a small portion of utilities, phase 1 Right-of-Way, Park A, Park  C, Outlot C and Outlot D Construction. Neighbors will see an increase in construction traffic as these scopes start this spring. In addition, Ryan will complete offsite improvements at the intersections of Ford Pkwy & Mt. Curve Blvd, Ford Pkwy & Cretin Ave and Montreal Ave & Cleveland Ave. The first offsite intersection scope is Ford Pkwy & Mt. Curve Blvd and includes modifications to the existing utilities, new curb & gutter, new traffic markings and new traffic signals. Ryan will provide additional communication regarding temporary traffic control plans associated with this work prior to the start of construction.
