Area C Community Meeting Presentation
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is hosting a community meeting on February 20 to share information about the environmental investigation and next steps at Area C, a historical industrial waste dump on Ford’s river parcel. Area C was used to dispose of paint sludge and solvents during the early days of Ford’s operation at its St. Paul plant. More information about Area C is available on the MPCA’s website at https://www.pca.state.mn.us/waste/saint-paul-ford-site. The meeting will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 Snelling Ave S, St. Paul (MPCA presentation at 6:30 PM, followed by questions/answers). Area C of he Ford site includes a 22 acre parcel located at base of bluff on the floodplain that was used for disposal of Industrial waste (paint sludge, solvents) from 1940 to the 1960′s. This area of the original Ford Site has not been included in Master Plan for the Ford site development.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is conducting a feasibility study for clean up of the area.
