What is the Neighborhood Honor Roll?   The Neighborhood Honor Roll is a citywide award to honor people who improve the quality of life in Saint Paul.  Recipients can be either an individual or group who you feel has made a difference.  The Neighborhood Honor Roll Awards Night has become an annual tradition to recognize those neighbors who go above and beyond to help make our neighborhoods a better place in which to live and work.  Members from the community can nominate up to three candidates who they feel have made outstanding contributions to the community and have made  Highland Park a better place to live.

Highland Park 2018 Honor Roll Recipients

Sydney and Mandy from FrameworksFrameworks-Frameworks provides a space for local artists to display their work, as well as, community members to come celebrate by hosting art openings that are free to the public.  They have been in business over 40 years and have provided this community with a space for local art for over 10.  They also donate gift certificates and framing to local organizations, including Kaposia. They assisted Friends of Highland Arts with their Ward 3 Art Project by choosing the artists shown and installing the art on location. They’ve taken their donating globally by providing a sponsored child through World Vision for each employee and donating to Team World Vision throughout the year for clean water projects in Africa. Owner Mandy Madsen participates in the Twin Cities Marathon each year since 2015 in an effort to raise money for Team World Vision on her own and wants that passion to continue on to the work place. They consistently look for ways to give back and welcome more opportunities in 2019.

Jason Fritz (for Hanna Cooper)

Jason Fritz accepting for Hanna Cooper

Hanna Cooper- Hanna was the driving force behind the sidewalk in-fill project that were installed around Cretin-Derham Hall, EXPO, and Holy Spirit.  She worked tirelessly after her daughter was hit by a car on the way to school, to make sure a Safe Routes to School program was implemented, and helped energize the community around funding for the project itself. Our neighborhood had been talking about how we needed these sidewalks for YEARS and Hanna made this a reality.  Thank you Hanna for your hard work. Thank you for making our neighborhood a safer place.
