This FREE fair is one of the area’s most popular events, with over 40 exhibitors and 13 workshops to help you take on your next project and save money, energy, and time in the process.
Tech Dump St Paul will be at the 2020 fair collecting small electronic items: Cell Phones, Tablets, and Cables/ charging cords
Grab a bite to eat at the Café Cairo: Greek and Egyptian Street Food truck, conveniently located outside at the entrance to the fair!
Wednesday, March 18 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm Highland Park Community Center Auditorium Matthew Morreim, PE, Division Manager, Street Maintenance, City of St. Paul Public Works
Matthew will be providing us with an overview on the Snow Emergency process including:
- how the current Snow emergency decisions are made
- what the routes are
- how many trucks drivers
- work done to come back and do intersections, etc
Presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
Tuesday, March 10th – 6 – 7:30 pm
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 Snelling Ave S.
Update on the Ford Site Redevelopment Project, including schedule, logistics, communication and next steps.
This project will take place beginning in April with a fall 2020 completion date. It includes:
- Resurface Hwy 5
- Repair ramps to and from Hwy 62, Bloomington Rd. and the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport entrance
- Repair ramps to I-494
- Repair 12 bridges
- Repair drainage

The HDC has created an Annual Meeting Task Force to look at the current annual meeting process and recommend improvements. The goal is to increase community participation in the election of board members. This survey will be open through Friday, February 28, 2020.

Update: Secretary of State Steve Simon will be joining the program as a presenter and be available for questions.
As Minnesota switches from a caucus system to a primary system for the Presidential election, the League of Women Voters is working to ensure the all voters have an opportunity to learn the ins and outs the new system. This event will take place on Tuesday, January 21st from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Saint Paul Neighborhood Network, 550 Vandalia Street. This event will be led by Voter Outreach Specialist Michael Wall of the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State. Registration is not required but it is appreciated. The HDC office will be closed on Tuesday, December 24 and reopen on Thursday, January 2nd. Have a safe and happy holiday season.
The Highland District Council hosted a Night of Peace and Goodwill on December 4th at Highland Senior High School.
