The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is hosting a community meeting on February 20 to share information about the environmental investigation and next steps at Area C, a historical industrial waste dump on Ford’s river parcel. Area C was used to dispose of paint sludge and solvents during the early days of Ford’s operation at its St. Paul plant. The meeting will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 Snelling Ave S, St. Paul (MPCA presentation at 6:30 PM, followed by questions/answers). Questions can also be submitted prior to the meeting by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This project will take place beginning in April with a fall 2020 completion date. It includes:
- Resurface Hwy 5
- Repair ramps to and from Hwy 62, Bloomington Rd. and the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport entrance
- Repair ramps to I-494
- Repair 12 bridges
- Repair drainage

The HDC has created an Annual Meeting Task Force to look at the current annual meeting process and recommend improvements. The goal is to increase community participation in the election of board members. This survey will be open through Friday, February 28, 2020.

As Minnesota switches from a caucus system to a primary system for the Presidential election, the League of Women Voters is working to ensure the all voters have an opportunity to learn the ins and outs the new system. This event will take place on Tuesday, January 21st from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Saint Paul Neighborhood Network, 550 Vandalia Street.
