Community Meeting Minutes

Attendees: Tia Anderson, Mark Forsberg, Fay Hassie, Rick Hugley, Tim Puffer

Discussion of June Board Meeting agenda:

• Commander Luna to speak at June meeting. Added early in the agenda as outside speaker. Any other outside speakers (e.g., Dennis Rosemark, Council Member Harris's aide) would be invited to speak at the same time in the agenda.
• June meeting to be focused on Board Member orientation.
• o Representative from Saint Paul Planning and Economic Development to be invited to speak regarding the contract with District Councils
• o Treasurer's Report should be a "Financials 101"
• o Community Organizer and Subcommittee reports should highlight processes, relationships, and interactions with outside entities, e.g., Public Works
• Mark met with Kathy regarding creating the Treasurer's Report. Agreed the reports should reflect the financials as of the prior month.
• Subcommittees to make motions to accept Community Representatives that were elected to their committees. The max number of committee members is nine according to the HDC by-laws. There was a question as to whether subcommittee alternates need to be confirmed.
• Mark shared feedback from the CSC meeting regarding hiring a new Crime Prevention Coordinator. There may be a need to establish board approval stages ahead of time (e.g., job description and final candidate approval). Mark will cover this as part of the CSC report.

Other Business:

• Motion made, seconded and passed to allocate $100 for Kathy to spend on a thank you celebration for the Hillcrest Recreation Center Staff in appreciation of their support of the HDC and its work.

Action Items:

• Executive Committee Members to review the HDC by-laws section regarding Executive Committee responsibilities
• Tim to confirm Ray Cleveland's subcommittee assignment with him
• Tim to provide June agenda updates to Kathy
• Kathy to move HDC Board Meeting from July 8 to July 22. No Board Meeting in August
• Kathy to schedule future Executive Committee meetings for Wednesday evenings a week prior to the Board Meetings
